Whats brakes?
Pads not locating correct in the carrier?
Loose caliper/carrier bolts?

You can normally aggrevate them by reversing then braking then forward and braking and so on. Noticeable when you doing your 20 point turns trying to get into a car park at ASDA.

if it clunks its probably the pads moving up and down in the caliper....

not much you can do apart from copper grease the pad edges....

Where is the clunk from or feel/sound like its from ? Front / rear ?

Metallic, tinny, solid dull thud etc - throw us a clue,as it could be any mounting (gearbox/engine etc) or bush / tca / bearing.

Does it do it on braking whilst turning or only on straights etc ??

Pad rattle can be sorted on any car by fitting a residual valve if it's that

Copper greasing can help dampen noise (squeal) but generally not help with rattle.

Sounds like a bush with lateral movement somewhere then.

Get under with a bar and start poking around !!

That my friend is Backlash - the free movement between the crown wheel and pinion being taken up once the load is released and gives a little thud.

I had a similar clunk Kev just when turning to the rights slowly, like round a tight corner or a small roundabout or something, turned out it was the exhaust knocking

Kev, check the anti roll bar bolts. My captive nut has come lose on the anti roll bar & mine clunks braking & sometimes turning the wheel. Get it up in the air & see if any of the bolts are spinning.
