my Sky box is playing up a bit, and is out of warrenty, so i am going to sort my warrenty out, when i thought, could i just buy a Sky+ box off ebay and plug it in and use it? i never bothered to get Sky plus before but as my standard digibox is on the way out i thought it may be worth it, but can i buy a box and just plug it in? or do i need to contact Sky?

you need 2 wires to hook up sky plus

plus you need to get the card coded to the box or else you will only recive the free to air channels in the new box

sky plus is so worth it though, you'll never know how you coped wihtout it afterwards

its a free upgrade, you just need a sky+ box and a kit off of ebay wich alloys u to run two wires from you sky dish into the back of the box. then you just phone sky up and ask them to upgrade it which takes about 24 hours then you can start recording

i did this last year and im only 19 lol so im pretty sure you can work it out

YOu need to pay extra for the skyplus facility if you don't take a certain amount of packages. Costs £10 per month!

We ditched it in the end and went freeview with a swanky Sony DVD Freeview recorder with HDD.
