Default yb rebuild prices on average

1/ Rebuild full engine

2/ Rebuild bottom end

Just to standard c/r with uprated big end bolts and head bolts, what prices for 1 & 2 ??? Or would you be better buying a modded one with low miles for say 4k ??

how about a brand new built 200 block with ARP rod bolts, ARP Stud and Nut kit e,t,c, standard comp and fully rebuilt head for £2850.

Then pull £1000 back in the bits you have

I asked the same without much luck.

Its either my face dont fit in PF. Or its to vague, ie not knowing what state your engine is in.

Depends on so much mate ie what condition are the parts you are going to use for rebuild ie will the block need rebore if so new pistons or 2nd hand with new rings does your crank need a grind ? as said you are better of talking to a tuner and get them to inspect the parts you have and therecondition will pay a big part in the price

spent 3000 on my last build saved on labour as built it myself ,only the machining work wasnt done by me ie honing, decking, head skim etc , fairly std spec ,
tbh mate next time ill just buy a decent motor already done that way have more spare ones lol

if paying labour not self building i would expect another 1000 on top of 3000 figure
so about £3000 if building yourself and around £4000 if built up for you

IIRC Kev, ours (done it ourselves) re-bored the original block, new pistons, oil pump crank polished etc

For No. 2 I'd say about £2k

..you can buy a whole saff with rebuilt low mileage engine for the ammount you'd pay to just get a rebuild on your engine.

Example above youd get a mint saff for that!

Depending on Donar parts, and what is re-usable and what power you want.....

This is assuming good Block, crank, rods, head, cams.

1. Set of mahle pistons+ rings £400
2. ARP rod Bolts £65
3. New oil pump+drive £165
4. Full engine gasket set £160ish
5. New lifters £80
6. Shells mains/big ends/ thrusts £120
7. Headgasket (small turbo escos) £35
8. Long studding if wanted £250ish
9 Std head bolts £20ish
10.New turbo feed pipe £15
11.10 litres of oil+ 2 filters £80ish

Total is approx £1140 with Std head bolts , £ 1390 with long studding.

Engine machining is approx: £400

£80 Rebore
£30 deck block face
£40 Skim head+ pressure test
£100 Crank Grind
£120 full engine dynamic balance
£30 lap all valves in and build up head

So you can do a good quality full rebuild for 2k on a std engine ... Of course there are lots of other options, but thats the bare minimum I would do, and I'm sure there are a few bits extra I might have forgot.
