Default mondeo ST24 turbo mapping

my stepdads ordered a turbo conversion package for his ST24, but were having a few management worries, cant find anywhere to do a map for it!! i know its not exactly an everyday conversion etc, but someones gotta be able to do the business?!

i dont have a scoobydoo what managment the st runs, or if it can be mapped for boost, but can anyone shed any light on it?!

ive adivsed him hes gonna need a new MAP sensor, and posibly greens, but i havnt got a clue about the ecu/chip side of it.

anyone help?

I would suspect the manageent would be incapable of fueling for a forced induction engine. Greens and a new map sensor would not apply to the car either...

You might have to change the management completely...

Yes. His business partner has experience in turbo charging N/A engines so could be able to give you advice.

If the ST24 injectors are anything like the stock mondeo ones you will need to modify or change the inlet manifold to run Bosch style injectors.

You will need a new map sensor.... along with a new management system if you want to do things properly?

Megasquirt would be capable but do your homework and make sure you know what you are doing.

The only people I know that pressure feed the ford V6 engine are Noble. I'm sure its all very top secret but you might be able to get some info from an owners club?

speak to motorsport developments.

try and catch kenny, he's the EEC Guru...

also if he's unable to help, try speaking to Mike R or Ahmed (just do it n dont ask :P)

ps the ST24 runs EECV and the bloody thing's locked the transponder key too! so you cant just nick another EECV ECU thats off a turbo car (altho saying that there arent any cyl turbo cars in this country running EEC that i know of... lol)

you might have to go aftermarket...

www.s8ecu.co.uk try having a word with simon, he may be able to sort something out for you...

What worries me here is the fact your are buying a turbo "Conversion" package...

Erm.. forgive me but how can it be a conversion, let alone a package if its going to melt the first time you drive it?

Neither Kenny Nor Myself can help here im afraid as the management is both transponder locked to teh chassis number and incapable of dealing with forced induction. Sorry fella.

looks like you gotta go aftermarket then

loadsa ECUs out there that can do what you wnt... wont be cheap tho...

unless ofcourse simon can help you (check the S8 website) as his prices are blinding.

any competent mapper should be able to deal with most aftermarket management systems... theyre all more or less the same in principle. problem is there arent all that many competent mappers in the UK

i still say speak to MSD to see what they can/cannot offer you... just be prepared to spend a few quid on management and mapping.

also you might be able to get some addon/bodgeon box for the ECU like perfect power or a unichip or something, but ive never looked into this in detail, and dunno if EEC5 is compatible

oooh great stuff guys thats what we needed! some clear info!

good idea about looking at what managment noble use mate, might be worth looking at.

the 'kit' is an american job made for the contour (americas version of the mundano) so it will all physically bolt on, but the map they use is specifically for the emerican spec engine which runs different compression and theres a few other disimilarities, plus theyre all mapped for the strict california emisions which is total bollocks really!

its a single turbo lewis, i forget what size but theres a full spec list on the companies site he ordered it from. theres dyno printouts for some of the engines theyve done, and on 9/10psi theyre not far off 300brake. so not to shy at all. should make 300 with decent management hopefully.

cheers peeps. oh, jim, whats the S8 website mate?!

cheers all
