Ain't that just Fookin' typical
RS is almost finished, and the one big local show, which I was 100% planning to go ends up going tits up
Surely such a large & well organised RSOC group ( Essex is the heartland of all things RS) must be able to find another venue ????

If that's true I'm a little shocked at Ford. The publicity and chance to get the target customers for the new Focus RS in one place - and they could even show something to said members attending if they wanted to , but they'd rather take all the gate money which would mean the world to the Essex RSOC I'm sure, but what to them exactly?
Seems a little strange to me...
A real shame though as we were all coming to this one from the mag as it's in my home county too... Can someone from the branch contact me if it's 100% definite or with the new details so I can make the necessary alterations in our What's On When section please?

i think it was a condition of the show , that all money taken went to charity.and that is a great idea..i was told in confidence, that the national rsoc pay the cost of insurance for the day,and with no money from gate sales going to essex group, there was no way of the rsoc getting this money back.also the chairman of essex group is not a member of the national group,so is not allowed to be in that position.seems that dave easton being the new local group coordinator,is trying to tighten up on the rules.iam told that it is the national group that will not allow the show, and essex are still wanting it to go ahead.

seems that they were going to front the insruance money
and once they thought that was covered the rest would go to charity
the owners of the place they were goingt o use wanted to give it all to charity
so how much would we be talking baout for the insurance costs and if it's a nominal ammount, wh not just ask for a few extra quid from the punters for both the chrity and the insurnace as in a collection pot at the gate or soemthng?
