Any VAG techs here??
got a problem with my Seat Leon Cupra R 
( 210bhp AMK engine)
basically the engine management light is on, i've had the faults read, and they say;
ignition - open circuit cylinder 2 and 3.
Now i've changed all four coilpacks (non-genuine) and the fault is still there...
The car drives perfectly, doesn't missfire and still pulls as it should!
but it was supposed to be sold yesterday, understandably the buyer was put off by the light!
Does anyone know what the problem is??

yeah, got a guy from VW to fit them and clear codes, but it came straight back on within a mile.
from what i can tell from searching the webnet, it 'may' be the aftermarket coilpacks....apparently people have seen this code appear after fitting new ones, although the car still drives perfect the Check Engine Light comes on.
looks like i may have to buy genuine ones then
unless someone knows anything else?

Other than that, the only think it "could" be is on some 20vs the have a seperate fuse, which could bring up that fault, or the wiring harness could have melted (happens alot) but that would come up as a "short" and not an "open" circuit

if you can get a print of from a 5051 OR 5052 ( VAG diagnostic) then i could give you a better idea
but we have seen that problem before

the company who supplied my aftermarket coil packs might be doing some tests on them for me, so it's possible they might fix it before hand, but i can see this being my only way of solving it.

Try returning them.
My customer had the cheapo ones from ECP and then he told them that the fault code is still coming up, they then accepted them back for return. Which meant my customer just had to pay the extra for the VAG one.

No, no problems at all with the way the car drove...the light came on a couple months back, i then changed the coilpacks and had the codes removed..but they just came back on straight away.
hopefully i'll get it sorted at the weekend, i'll keep you posted
