Default Who's had a Ford F150 Harley Pickup?

Like this one;

With the full on 5.4 supercharged 380bhp V8 lump (as in the Lightning pickup and Ford GT)

Friend of mine is thinking about one - like me he loves big yank trucks, and we both think this looks the bollocks! It's all the right spec etc for him, he's a bit dubious about it being LHD tho, but you can, apparently, get pukka RHD converted models, tho these are expensive!

Anyway, has anyone lived with one for a decnet ammount of time and give a true and honest opinion of it's pro's and con's? I mean, ol Jezza wasn't too forgiving on the Lightning SVT model when they had it on top gear - summed it up as "rubbish" IIRC But as a daily user, what do owners think of them?

I told him to go for the 2-dr Lightning, I think they look better, but he reckons the crewcab Harley would be more practical (and he's probably right) with it having more seats....

Opinions?

My mates got a fuck off driveway (bit like the one in that pic) so parking at home shouldn't be an issue - although taking it to Tesco's and popping down the shops/bank etc could be a bit of a problem!

How long are they? And how much longer than the 2dr SVT are they?

Crewe cab(seats 6) is approx 19ft long and 6ft 7inch wide, depending on which bed size.

Can he live with single figure M.P.G.?

Far as I have seen, the 2002/2003 model's were 4 seats - 2 front, 2 back....

And someone else I spoke to said he got 13-14mpg around town when not toeing it, which for it's performance.engine size, isn't THAT bad!

Yeah loads of info on the web - what I want tho is honest reports of what it's actually like to live with as a daily user and WHY! ie someone might say "I had one for 2yrs, great performance, but the handling was shit, it was a pain to park, coudln't see fuck all out of it when paralelle parking, suspension was all soft and boggy, steering wheel had no feel to the wheels, etc etc" and someone else might say "fucking excellent, loved everything about it - fast as fuck, suspension was solid and tight, went round corners nicely, even when not sideways and was a dream to drive"

That sort of thing. Not journo hacks paid by companies to make it sound good, or biased opinions (even if this IS a Ford site Or well used to be anyway )

Is he going to be importing from the US or finding one in the UK?
If he is going to be importing from the US he’ll have to pay 15% import tax as any tuck is classed as a work vehicle.

I ended up importing this for my brother. Not really my cup of tea but he loves it which is the main thing.

Yank vehicles don't have a CO2 rating so it's PLG class @Ł185.
