Default how the f$%^ do you undo these connectors?

the ones with the springs in them?

pie and a pipe, one with the flare and a spring in it, the other end with a little lip and a plastic round with on it

you are "supposed" to push the plastic into the pipe and the spring is "supposed" to get spread enough so that it can be slipt apart

so obviously me and the guy who was helping me spent an hour before we decided to get the dremell out and cut the fooker out

and then the bastard new fitting wouldn't come together

fuck
shit
wanker
cunt
other random bits of shouting and swearing when things go worng and not the way you think they should be going

general ranting about the unjustness of it all and about how it's always me who gets the shit

and about how the pipes are always in just about the most fucked up and inaccessable places on the car

etc

you bodger. dead easy using either the correct plastic tool. or if you don't have one, you can make one by simply cutting a strip of aluminium plate and wrapping it around the pipe and then pushing it in to expand the spring and release the joint.

is this the a/c that you are bodging, or the fuel system?

the pipe coming out of teh bodywork is about 3/4 of an inch in diamiter so that gives you just some idea of how tight a spot it is

and the position of it is right next to the indicator in the inner wing of the mondeo so you can't actually pull the pipe off without getting your hand caught in the gap between the wing and the pipe

ad seeing as there is no space left, we eventually used a screwdriver to tap it out of position

i'm sure the correct tool would have done the trick, but it would have still been easier to remove the wing

that bit of plastic on there is to hold the spring open only for easy assembly on the production line - not for opening the joint
