Default how much agro to fit the works type sill tubes for stands

i do most of my own maintanance on my car etc, so being ford i spend alot of time underneath it

i hate having the axle stands under the car when doing certain jobs and never like where they have to be positioned on the rear on the xr2 so am thinking of fitting the sill tubes/section so i can use the rally/works type stands

how are these tubes fitted into the sill??? is a hole cut through the sill itself for the tube and then fully welded round or are they welded to the underneath of the sill/floor pan on a reinforced plate or something

any pics or info appreciated as most cars you cant see to much as the sideskirt is covering the actual position/fitting

thanks
marc

most ones i do when the car is on the jig and i have a bracket that guides the hole saw so they are all the same height, otherwise its hard because the sill has a radius.

also use an extended hole saw that goes all the way through and fit strenghtener plate on th out side
