Default PayPal and E-Cheque Payments?

Any of you guys on here received one of these?

Bought an item off GTR forum (via PayPal) which wasn't as described and had missing parts. Eventually got in touch with the seller and he agreed to refund me the money and I should send it back. Friday gone I sent it and after a few calls/texts over w/e which he didn't reply to, on Monday I get a txt saying he sent payment via PayPal and E-Cheque and it should clear on Tuesday.

Account still ain't showing this money and I've had no e-mails or anything telling me and e-cheque payment is pending? Should I? How long do these take to clear? What a fookin nightmare man!

Any info appreciated.

Cheers.

yes you should have gotten a email from paypal saying "you've got funds", also the transaction should show on your paypal account with a esitimated date of clearance, you wont get the money to use untill it clears though.

why didnt the seller just refund your paypal payment?,

i've had this happen before when trying to make a payment, it would only let me send it via echeque. no idea why, i had funds, but paypal was spazzed.

and i'm not 100% sure but i *think* the recipient of the payment was not notified whatsoever, until it eventually cleared (which took about 2 weeks!)

I had e-cheque onl on paypal for a few days, it is because your address confirmation has become null. Mine was down to one of my cards I had registered expiring..

All it took was to re-register said card & paypal ring your landline...job done..back sending instant payments again.

If the guys send a e-cheque the money is on its way mate...just keep your fingers crossed it's in his account for paypal to take

Ah well, I'll see what happens by the end of the week.

Popped an e-mail to PayPal and asked if they have any record of it, see what they say.

Thanks for info.

Someone paid me using an echeque and I got a notification from Paypal saying it was awaiting clearance, and it showed on my ebay account as paid but awaiting clearance. Can't recall if it showed in my PayPal account until it had cleared though, but you should deffo have had an email.

paypal use the echeque system when there isnt any back up payment method for your bank account, when this happens which mine did once when my credit card had expired paypal will front the money to you and get the money from the buyer, will take 7-10 days to clear.
