30psi on greens is for pansies .

I ran 34 psi peak and holding 26psi to 7k. Made 385bhp / 403lbft on a T34 0.48 a/r and did 172mph and a 12.640s quarter at 115.96mph

Must have been well lean, as it survived seven 170mph runs on the same day back in 1998 .

When it regularly used to hand other "allegedly" more powerful cars their arse at Santa Pod, I used to get regularly accused of that . I would open my bonnet and tell them to be my guest with their finger nail .

No doubt it will be 'oil starvation or oil contamination' the same old excuse more turbo companies use when a turbo fails!!!

I had a brand new CR turbo fail after less than 200 miles , T34.48, put the turbo on on a friday night + new oil and filter, and new feed pipe. Pre-filled the turbo with a bit of oil and primed the pipe to ensure 100% lubrication . Drove home from mates unit (8 miles) Drove to MSD on Saturday (130 miles) completly off boost as it was on a small turbo car, so didn't want to risk anything. Monday afternoon I get the phone call off Stu, "hi, your new turbo has just died in a big cloud of blue smoke" .

Total bearing failure, oil fucking everywhere. Sent it back, and got the old " Oil contamination" reply..... Luckily they honoured the warranty as 200 miles is taking the piss a bit.

Mates 3 door had a GT35/T4 hybrid CR turbo, died on the M5 after less than 1500 miles..... New oil and filter again, but unfortunatly the turbo was bought as part of the engine, total bearing failure..... oil fucking everywhere, and the engine was almost brand new as well, so had 3 oil and filter changes....

Just hope my Brand new T38 lasts a bit longer

Had a call from CR Turbo's this morning and they saying the turbo is more or less f....d. Its broke the shaft in half and has damaged/scorched the housings so cant be rebuilt...

Said the cause could've been anything oil contamanation, starvation etc

None of this make sense to me only way is a new unit which i being offerd to me at 525....

RWD_cossie_wil: I was about to order a new unit but your last post has put me in two minds now so what you reckon i should do?

Last thing i wanna do is go out lash 500quids and have the same problem week/month down the line

Riess,
I would use Turbo Technics, they warranty the turbos to 30psi . Think for a brand new T34.48 with cut back blades it is around £600 non-exchange, pretty sure thats close to what my mate paid . Also, I would do an engine flush with flushing oil, as chances are there are bits of mashed turbo bearing in the oil system now. Then fit a new filter, new oil and a new oil feed pipe just to be sure
