Like anything in life, you have to have tiome to grieve. That time is totally dependant on each of us.

I re-read my post and should have said about giving it time.
I think we were about 1 year before getting our next dog. We never stuck with the same breed as we thought that we'd always expect the next dog to do exactly the same as the last, which they obviously don't.

Just let the weeks or even months go by and take it from there & remember the times you had with them.

Having just lost our baby daughter back on the 16th April, I know what loss does to you.

we had one die last year--------11months ago-----still not got over it yet-
thought i was tougher than i was!!!!-still missing him- he was 9 years old.
its a bastard to get over believe me---------

what can I say man, yup had a few beers (not a maasive drinker) looked back through this thread and the amount dog lovers on this forum is massive

much appreciation for all your replies over the past few days man, my heads been shot
