T4 turbos
i am bored and have been thinking!!!is it worth bolting a T4 on a standard c/r 205 block with midly ported head to get 400/420bhp?as the turbo will be working alot less then a T34.63 would say the boost on a T4 would be 20 odd psi for this power??now will this turbo come in with more of a bang then a T34 running 30odd psi to acheive the same power?which would feel faster?be more realiable set up for the above spec?if u get my meaning?

the T4 comes on with a hell of a bang on the 500 and its hitting 15psi. but it will feel alot more laggy mate.

prefer mine mate but my t34 isit exactly the same as yours.. it depends what your after at the end.. do you want a quick car from the get go or one that punches in around 4000rpm..the 500 is loosing 10psi somewhere but its still fast.

If you do decide to do it - you'll need an air injector or other mappable boost controller to allow you to dial out the surge...
T38s and T4s do have a habit of surging as they come on - but other than that, a standard comp engine does make it nice and lively

Karl @ NMS advised me that I could change to a T4 and run it at only 24 psi to get the same power as I have now, and the turbo will never let go, unlike a T34.63 which is having its neck wrung. He did say it would come in a bit later, but would power you to the red line.
I do like how mine drives on the T34 though - very little lag really. I like the midrange surge rather than revving the tits off it.

sorry for the OT but i've a rs500 turbo for sale, new with 360° bearings and modded for an air restrictor (could make an adapter) http://martin.zellner.at/cossi/rs500/
if anyone is interested: martin@zellner.at
and just 4 info, the turbine wheel of the rs500 turbo is around 5mm bigger than a gt30 wheel and the inducer of the compressor is 1mm bigger (exducer is the same)
