the point of this topic is to question religion not outright slate it. this it a theology debate looking at the arguments for and against the ACTUAL existance of god. not if people are right or wrong

reading what the four statement's about god or you believe the statement's.
If the evil one is also watching somebody die without stepping in then god is assisting in evil so surely that mean's he is evil then baring that in mind then the devil isnt the opposite of god. So if he isnt the opposit of god then the argument of god crumble's as they cant be at the opposit of the spectrum to each other.
Probably make's on sense on here but does in my head
And i dont believe in god

if you were arsed enough to look up theology all the terms used are common language.

It would be nice to think there's something up there, but no I don't think so some how. And if there was a god would he really want you to go and worship him on a sunday morning? Would he want the church to control so much land and wealth? No. I allways remember my gran saying "where ever we go when we die it must be better than here, cos no one ever comes back" lol. Perhaps there's no fuel duty Lol

my thoughts/beliefs
I use the Bible as a guide, I find it helps to steer me in the right direction, it lays down basic fundamentals for living life successfuly.
I dont think that you necesarly need to believe in Christianity nor indeed Judaism to realise that rules(hate that word) need to exist.
And Yeah, of course we make our own choices in life, some wise some not so. Thats life, experiance and where character is formed.
Christianity isnt about following a set of rules or being moulded into some kind of (i dunno what) Me, I'm far to spirited an individual to be a stereo typical religious buff. I dont do religion nor will I be told told what I must do.
Thats what makes life interesting, im no different, I just happen to share different belief's.
Thats like the UFO question, time travel etc etc too, personaly Im not interested enough in the subject matter to go researching the different theorys. That doesnt mean in my mind that they arent possible or feasable, just that I dont find it important enough to bother about.

the beliefs tha ti live by are to do right to everyone with the ability to expect others to do right by me
and i also feel that everyone is free to live their own lives, their own ways, with their own beliefs with the priviso that those beliefs do not affect me or my family or are forcibly foited upon me by others who wish to change the way i live my life
so if someone decides that they need to believe that there are 45 gods living in his milk bottles then so be it, but don't ocme round my house like a jehovas witness and expect me to belive the same
we had a guy who used to work with us who was nicknamed "bless" because he owuld praise god for everything that happened in his life, and yet he was of the understanding that there was a theory of evoution and that the bible contradicts itself on lots of points
does he automatically become a heathen to other church goers?
and i also feel that everyone is free to live their own lives, their own ways, with their own beliefs with the priviso that those beliefs do not affect me or my family or are forcibly foited upon me by others who wish to change the way i live my life

what always amazes me is that many people spend hours praying and effectively talking to god however when ever someone claims to have had god talk back to them this person is usually considered to be mad.
I fail to see how people can blindly believe that a god with no physical evidence yet exhibit suspicion or fail to believe people who claim he has spoken to them

Out of interest Andy (and others) do you not believe in evolution? and when did the world begin? did we have dinosaurs or is it all made up by us non believers and science?
