Default putting a 2.9 cosworth engine into a mk2 ganarda

what work is involved ?? is the engine mounts the same ?? is it just a case of getting a donor car and swapping all the bits over ? any advice appricated

As long as you have a 2.8 mk2 just ignore the fact that its a a 24v and refit everything like you would if you were just changing the engine for another 2.8 and when you need ya loom doing send me a pm lol

so should be stright forward then all i need now is the donor car and then find the shell for it to go into .

fuel lines will need sorting, As its a granny you will not have issues with the air box.

should all just bolt in, if it was a 2.8

if your going with auto use the 24v box, but if you got a manual the type 9 is not a great box and as the car is quite heavy it will not take long before it will shit its self.

Use a hybrid 2.0 dohc MT75 have seen it done but not sure how

you can even use a T5, you can get adaptors and 2.9 MT 75 RWD boxes from a certain company.

Eg the only one which knows 24v inside and out

will it make a diffrence what car the engine comes out of eg the later frog eyed model car ?

fuck yes, its going to be a total cunt sorting out the ecu and wiring, you need the key barrel and key shit.


you can use the BOA ecu and loom, but they are getting fucking hard to find

i'm looking to buy a hole donor car with all the bit still on it then find a mk2 granny to put it in as i've always kind of liked the shape for some reason

i had a 2.9 24v BOB 4x4 in my escort cosworth shell. Wiring was not that much of a problem as i used the full loom from the scorpio. It went & handled really well.

the boa engines and assoated bits seem harder to find even as a whole car there seem to be loads of later ones batting about , its only ment to be a little project nothing running into loads of cash to build
