Default pro gold hose fitting assembly guide anyone?

would just like to double check i am about to assemble my new nomex tfe lined hose and pro gold fittings correctly.

im 99.9% sure its right as cant see any other way it can be done.

here is a pic of the pro gold fitting/olive/collar and nomex covered hose

step 1 - pass the collar over the brided hose then screw the threaded olive over the exposed hose section of hose.

step 2 - push hose fitting into exposed hose end/olive

step 3 - push collar up to fitting and tighten carefully until gap between the 2 is alomost closed (i havent tightened this fully yet in the pic)

obviously applying light coating of grease or assembly lube to threads as you do with any of these types of fittings.

so is that right can anybody confirm as i dont want them leaking when in the car

thanks
marc

That is correct.

Just make sure the olive is pushed all the way home on to the hose.

You have it spot on.

Marc, how many times did you put the olive on and forget to put the collar on first

So frustrating on braided lines

What have you replaced then with these lines, they look wicked

im replacing everything in the pro gold nomex covered hose mate and pro gold fittings

will be doing it bit by bit tho over the next month or so as its very expensive @ Ł40 a meter for the hose & up to Ł35 per fitting

but a lot nicer to the eye, no fuel vapour from the hose, easier to assemble and great bend radius compared to normal aeroquip, its also roughly 20% lighter than any other fitting/hose combination, even more if you use there in house swaged fittings.

im also using JIFFY TITE dry break fittings on everything, like tank/pumps/filter/rail/regulator etc so removal is a 2 second job with no spillages etc

heres some of the dry break fittings,

it is very trick and the dry break will very rarely be needed, but handy when you want to remove stuff on the quick or if you want to drain the tank just use another length of hose with the opposite half dry break fitting and plug it in to the pump, hassle free just how i like it.

i want to do the front break lines next but there a bit dearer for the dry break fittings :blub:

na no metal in the hose mate, its just a convoluted tfe plastic material with nomex outer braid, so just like normal aeroquip wrap a bit of tape round the hose to stop it fraying and then cut with fine tooth hacksaw or fine blad dremmel cutter etc,
