Default Nokia 6230 to PC file transfer?

I fookin hate computers

Got a USB lead to connect up the phone to the PC, and it's causing me a problem!

Plug the phone in, and it finds new hardware (XP), so you stick the CD in, and it gets the driver off the disk.

Click to finish when it's complete, and it then comes up with "found new hardware", and you get stuck in a loop where it finds the driver on the disk, and then "re-finds" the hardware straight after.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried manually installing it from the CD rather than going from it finding the hardware? Remove it first using control panel though.

Or just follow the instructions on the CD and dont plug the phone in until it tells you too... possibly.

go to control panel, device manager, infra red device, hardware, properties, and drop teh tranciever type from the top one to the bottom one, the vishay one, and try again had me pullin teeth for weeks as it will see the phone but wont transmit data with the other setting?!?!

I can do 6230 = PC and PC - 6230 very easily....

Get one of these;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...848227387&rd=1

(I already had one, but a 6 in 1, I got for my Digi Cam smart media card)

All I do is slip the MultiMedia Card in the reader and BAM! instant file transfer

Thrush - I had one, and sent it back. It was shit.

I'm still no further on. Every time I plug the device in, it keeps finding it for the first time! HELP............. I swear I'm going to smash something in a minute!

Rich - how was it shit? I mean it only does one thing - read media cards

Mine is permantly "on" (plugged into USB slot) and I just shove in the digicam card with say 250 pics on it, open the folder and within seconds (literally 3-4 seconds) all the pics are there as jpegs... Using the lead from the camera it takes fooking ages (minutes) and cains the cam batteries.... This way is far quicker and easier as you just see everyting as normal PC files to move around, rename, delete, copy etc....

Rich - pmsl! Tho judging by this post I think that might be you, not the reader

I want to get a decent bluetooth dongle thing as that would be even quicker as no need to turn phone off and remove MMC card

I use a bluetooth adapter with my k700i, and have also used it with a mates 6230. Cost about £14 from ebay shipped from hong kong and was a piece of piss to set up, after I too got fed up trying to get a data cable working.

I think I got it sorted after much head scratching.

It was showing up as an exclamation mark next to the item in device manager, so fookin deleted it all, and started again
