Or will the heat from the turbo melt the paint ?

Also, I think it's more soundproof? Rather than heatproof..

It is heat proof m8, my painter has had many a cossie in for blistering paint above the turbo.

it is safe to remove it,if.....you wear a hard hat, steel toe caps, and high vis clothing, after completing a risk assessment

seriously...i havent had under bonnet protection for years...no issues

looks more motorsport imo

Hang on.. so the paint is blistering on the bonnet? So the heat has passed though the turbo heat sheild and still melting the paint? Yikes.

yup mine did it around the bonnet vent, even with the heat proofing on

Think thats why it has a metal type piece above the turbo m8, i havent got one fitted but have the under bonnet plates which prob helps and if you look at most cars they dont use them, think it just depends how hard and often you use it in anger

not a good idea to remove the turbo heat shield.... a red hot turbo next to highly flammable break fluid is not good

i drive like a coooont, and was running 32psi from a t34,(glowing red lots!) and paint is perfect....alloy heat sheild fitted

Mine too but it's a 2wd and I think they didn't have any proofing fitted anyway. 20 yrs old and you'd be hard pushed to see the paint crazing.

paint on my bonnet is all cracked under turbo part,since the t4 went on,but 3-doors dont get the sound proofing orthe 2wd saph i dont think,just the refined 4x4s lol
