Is it safe to remove under bonnet heatproof material ?
Or will the heat from the turbo melt the paint ?

Also, I think it's more soundproof? Rather than heatproof..

Hang on.. so the paint is blistering on the bonnet? So the heat has passed though the turbo heat sheild and still melting the paint? Yikes.

Think thats why it has a metal type piece above the turbo m8, i havent got one fitted but have the under bonnet plates which prob helps and if you look at most cars they dont use them, think it just depends how hard and often you use it in anger

not a good idea to remove the turbo heat shield.... a red hot turbo next to highly flammable break fluid is not good

Mine too but it's a 2wd and I think they didn't have any proofing fitted anyway. 20 yrs old and you'd be hard pushed to see the paint crazing.
