Default FAO - Karl & ERST peeps with piper T2 cams & vernier

Hi,

My engine has a piper T2 cam fitted with an adjustable pulley, my problem is that when I got the car set up at engine advantages the guy altered the cam timing via the vernier so the power came in earlier but I now want it changed back ! I was driving it hard the other day and could actually feel the power dropping off at high rpm !

Karl Norris was the last person to set up the cam timing before engine advantages but I have been unable to get in contact with him. The power came in a little bit later but it pulled really well all the way to the limiter. So what have people with T2 cams got there timing set to on the vernier and where in the rev range are you seeing the power ?

Engine spec is basically, stage 3 head, stage 3 turbo and 23psi of boost.

any info much appreciated

Duncan

Id personally advise you have Mr Hills change it back for you as cam timing revisions will affect the air fuel ratio and spark advance requirements.

In a nutshell... changing it and shooting off up the road may cause a meltdown

cheers stu I'll give paul a call and book it in, it will need to be set up again anyway as I have to change the head gasket this weekend

............on another note, I have one of your motorsport development chips fitted in my ecu (previous owner had it done), I had the boost raised last week and now I get what I think is a boost cut out at high rpm (5500 ish), do your chips have a boost limit ?

cheers, Duncan
