Default verniers on a stage 3

Thinking of buying some vernier cam pulleys, will they be of much benefit on a stg 3 cossie?

if you are running standard cams i would say no, you can get the timing spot on with them even with standard cams but your not going to notice much of an increase. I have them cos they look nice

No IMO

You should ruin a cambelt cover anyway

So you check the condition of your cambelt on all your cars by taking the covers off if it has std cover then? Once a week?

indeed, as lets face it, at 7k rpm in 5th who gives a fuck what your verniers look like as no one can see them anyway. Much rather have a cambelt cover knowing my belt is safely turning those verniers, rather than just having them for show

Its the stones I'd worry about, it only takes one

If someone gets a transparent bonnet then we can let them off, as you just know everyone will be thinking "WOW, just LOOK at those vernier pulleys, they're AMAZING"

But with the belt showing you can check the tighness, wear, etc. How many stones are going to fly up from the ground to the belt and get caught and cause you an issue.. quite a low probabilty, more likey the belt would stretch and as you cant see it you slip a tooth.. pros and cons to this one me thinks.

On the track it a diffrent story i agree with sand traps etc.

Would have thought this was highly unlikely if you have a 500 cooler and radiator filtering out stones.
Don't see the need of the cam belt cover.

more likley it would get stuck around the bottom pulley area where the cover doesnt protect it anyway IMO..
