1 mm ? oversize pistons are either 0.25 or 0.50 i reckon that's in mm's

when u will hit full boost the crank will find its way to the tarmac and the pistons will fly trought the head in a figure of speech as the kind gent told me whilst i was on the phone with him.

as i assume its like reboring the block to 2.1 litres?

if not i am mistaken otherwise ignore it

I wouldn't put much more than standard boost through a 1mm rebore on a 205block mate, there won't be very much strength left in it at all I'm affraid

Why the hell would the do the flex rating of the block in bhp?? Did you just make that up??

By its nature it would be a peak torque figure that would cause damage to the block!

TIFF - i have a reciept with the car when the engine was rebuilt as i think it let a piston go and must have scored the bores inside, so the above is what they replaced it with, yours is standard isn't mate?

so if we rebuild our 205 block, and had it re-bored and used oversized 4x4 mahle pistons, re-ground/polished the crank ect ect ec ran it all in, and then put it back to stg3 (t34, greens, stg3 chip, 3 bar map sensor ect ect)

with a compression ratio of 8:1 what would be a sensible boost limit? 26psi?

would it all hold together?

IF you use the 4x4 mahle pistons and got a 2WD head the comp ratio will be 7.8:1

to answer ur other question, to rebore to a 2.1 u need 3mm ( or a bore to 93mm )oversized pistons but i dont know if u can get them for a cossie ( im sure someone would make them). i think this takes it to 2093 cc or something. but then i am going on experience from a pinto. so could advise weather safe or not on a cossie ( but i wouldnt think so ) as that is the max safe limit (although unpredicable ) of a n/a pinto. hope this helps

Quick Reply: How much boost can i run through a 205 block +1mm rebore?
