Hi matey
Glad you refound your smileys!
Porker has been great overall. I went for one with a warranty to ensure that any big issues would hopefully be Porsches problem and not mine.
My best advice is that if the 996 does tempt - check the issue with the half shaft - happy to say that this doesnt apply to the turbo or the GT2/3 models.
In fact, better than above - go for one with a warranty! That way all will be well with the world.
HTH!

Cheers mate, the problem he has is what to go for , gt3 or turbo, the guys not loaded and has saved since he sold his last one which is over two years, (also single so no women nagging him) so its a big decision, i told him turbo as its easily tuned and i no he will want it tuned, but he still really likes the gt3
Were due a test drive in one shortly, turbo and gt3. as i said he aint loaded he`s just a grafter who`s saved alot of cash and doesnt want to make a mistake you no

I know exactly where you are coming from - I cant really afford the one I have, but you only live once!
Both cars are very very good, but I was persuaded by the Turbo for several reasons - firstly it can be tuned very very easily if I get bored of her (not happened yet!)
- secondly, they come with more creature comforts, and is a fuck slight more comfy on a road.
Lastly, the turbo has the wide body which I prefer the look of to be honest. The 4x4 is also an absolute hoot in the wet!
So in a nutshell - get the Turbo, unless it is going to be a track toy, in which case get the GT3!
