Would it be more feasible to convert a 4x4 Saff to RWD?

As above, started breaking my current car and looking to buy a Saff Cos in the next month or so.
After a few conversations with mates who own/owned Cossies and baring in mind it will be used every day for daily commute (5miles) Ive decided I defiantely want RWD only, and at least stage 3 as I dont want anything slower than what Ive got.
But I defo want to add clsoed loop/wasted spark/coil pack and a live map with an improved spec in the future.
So would it make more sense to buy a late 4x4 Saff with L8 and closed loop already, therefore saving a fair bit and having better spec engine and converting it to RWD?
Is it hard to do/worth it in comparison? What do people think as it seems to make good sense really as I like the idea of the better 4x4 engine too.
What is actaully needed? Hubs/diff/sump/prop/box?
Opinions appreciated!

find a RWD with all the stuff on you want, easier in the long run.
If you still want to do it, you can do it 1 of 2 ways...
1) the full and harder conversion.
2wd sump, oil pick-up pipe.
Complete front subframe inc x-member, rack, uprights, hubs etc.
T5, speedo cable, 2wd starter motor
special gearox mount either made by yourself, or a ford mount thats almost perfect to stick a T5 into a 4x4 chassis.
2wd rear beam, diff, propshaft.
2.The easy way (bit of hacking required)
Leave all the 4x4 front x-member in, but remove front shafts and diff, but leave the stubs in to hold the front hubs together.
hack enough off the nearside 4x4 sump bracing to allow a 2wd starter to fit.
T5 box, prop, speedo cable and ford mounting (pm me for details)
leave all the 4x4 rear beam in, can put 2wd stuff in later if you want the bigger diff.
There are a few fiddly bits to do like tidying up around the gear gaitor etc, making a hole in the new gearbox mount for the T5 speedo cable etc.

It depends on the budget, I can't wait to get rid of std ecu, for emerald k3, just got to do a bit of machining to pulley now, to fit triger wheel, and it still works out cheaper than msd's with all the bits added, and for FAR more features.
