Will i regret selling the Saph For an Evo?
With the impending sell of my Saph going threw on sunday, i'm looking to buy a evo have got my eyes on either an Evo8 MR FQ320 or a FQ340 in Gunmetal Grey
Having Test Driven 2 Evo i found myself feeling disapointed in there performance, but totally made over by the drivability of them & the looks also
having spent the last 2 days wondering if i'm making the right choice can i have some views of peeps who have gone from Cossies to Evo what they think?
Don't get me wrong i Love my Cossie and i've got it to exactly how i want it & it goes like F**k, but i've been made an offer i can't refuse and if i kept it i know i'd only want more power which means more £££££
Please keep all comments sensible and to the Topic Please

doubt this will be the case with such a new car but thats what scares me alittle all my other cars i know like the back of hand and can do all my own work on them, when it comes to an Evo its a blank wall, but i'm a quick learner and they are only nuts and bolt like any other cars

its up too you at the end of the day, i like your saph, its a good example with a good spec too.
evo's are great cars tho, there awesome out of the box. even better when tweaked. maintenance is abit costly tho.
im seeing more and more evo's everyday (mostly driven by old men lol)., but i have to admit i love it when i see a cossie, as you dont see many about these days, always stop and stare

they are great cars but in relatively standard guise Evo's are a bit uninspiring performance wise... even with breathing mods and a remap theyre still not too amazing in a straight line, but look at the sheer amount of tuning goodies available and its a case of how much can you afford to spend to get the performance level you want.
The big thing i dont like about Evo's is the fact theyre pretty common

I have an escos mate running 330bhp and my mates evo9 fq320 leaves it for dead. dont know what that guys on about with straight line speed cos my mate just had his back from rcdevelopments and with a full true 3inch exhaust, de cat, chip and bigger intercooler it made 416bhp.he went to donnington the other wknd and came past a 911 gt3 they were both flat out. the only thing is i have drove it and its a bit boring, only you can decide.

Matt,
I sold my Escos for an Evo and didnt regret it one bit.
They ticked every box for me at the time so i just done it. Would still have it now had it not been for some numpty writing it off for me in Feb
Only you can decide so if you have driven a few and are not impressed then maybe you should steb back and just mull it over for a while.
Depreciation wise if you buy the right car then you should not loose too much on it

i've just sold my saff and got an evo 8 it's only a 300 bhp evo
but i dont regret it one bit
of to rc with it next week for more power
my saff was a 4x4 running 400 bhp
the just feel's much newer , miles better in the corners
mine it totaly standard ,
i will sort of miss the image that goes with a cossie ,
but only you can decide
if i where you i'd go for it

If you're the same as me, you'll sell it and get something that you think is superior, and you'll have fun with it for a while, then realise the Ford is a more iconic classic car and want another. And I know this happens and has happened to a lot of other people.
I had a really mint, and I mean really mint, it had only done 3k miles, VX220 and it was great fun, in fact for handling virtually nothing could touch it, but I just kept hanking back to the old Fords. Even though they can be trouble you can personalise them more and everyone notices them and loves them. And I'm currently thinking about it again!

Same here and haven't regretted it one little bit, nor have I missed the Escos.
It's 5 year technology as the oldest VIIIs are 2003
Maintenance/servicing on an Evo is no more than it is on a cossie. I did the same amount of services per year/mileage on my Escos as I have the Evo. A full service, changing all oils incl SAYC etc is less than £200.

20K+ Super Poster.
Keep the saff, for EXCLUSIVETY,
EVO's are so common, bit like all the beemer owners who thought they were "individual" buying a 3 series, they outsold the mondeo last year!!
I don't know about escos versus FQ etc but 2wd 330bhp DOES leave FQ360, well in a straight line anyway!!
I would keep the saff, stop worrying about depreciation then as well, compared with the common evo, which to be honest is just like driving your grannies nissan micra, VERY dull and boring, no involvement.

Happily retired
I would not sell my Saff for an EVO, owning a car is a personal choice. Im afraid im not clever enough to think backwards, but I still think clearly in the right direction & its my Saff everytime.
