If your Saph is a 4x4, then I'd say go wit the Evo for most the reasons mentioned above ! ! !
If your's is a 2wd, then your'll regret it in a big way !
I've driven an FQ360 Evo 9 & was bored shitless ! Felt front wheel biased untill properly provoked !
Sayin that, I felt the same way in my brothers 420hp Escort Cossie, 4x4 & me jus don't get along !
Which was a big deciding factor when I started wit this Saph, gotta be RWD & turbo !
What does that leave ?
When I was thinkin bout lettin mine go a short while ago, I got offered a very decent amount of cash for it (a price I said I would let it go for if I got offered it), I ended up turnin the fella down cos I couldn't think of a 4 wheel replacement for that money !
So I'm wit Rod, if the Saph 2wd hang on to it as you WILL regret it !
Good luck !

Keep the saff, for EXCLUSIVETY,
EVO's are so common, bit like all the beemer owners who thought they were "individual" buying a 3 series, they outsold the mondeo last year!!
I don't know about escos versus FQ etc but 2wd 330bhp DOES leave FQ360, well in a straight line anyway!!

They bought the 3 series as its a really nice car with a better badge!
Its also has drive to the CORRECT WHEELS!
It looks FAR better
BUT the real reason most sensible people would buy the BMW is it has FAR FAR better RESIDUALS because its a far more desirable car!
Jesus...

They're two totally different beasts.......The Evo is a modern high performance saloon, with fantatic road holding. But too many of them around....LOL.
The cosworth is a classic, and good ones are getting harder to find everyday. And if you want to buy another one later in life......Will you ever find one as good as the one you have now....????

i would have the evo-
but i wouldnt mind a nice specced sapph as a second/summer car and also an investment............
have you not considered the "m" cars? m3/m5....

The next time your cossy breaks down you'l regret not getting the Evo.
The Evo is more "refined" so it will feel slower.
I raced a saph cos in my old evo. And pulled on it in a line and massively around corners and braking. But when i went in his car it felt a hell of a lot quicker!

don't like the look of EVOS at all really but you can't argue with what they can do.
AMAZING CARS!
This really is a complete no brainer question for me!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
If you don't mind paying Ł440 quid from 2009, & Ł455 quid for a years road tax from 2010... then No... Evo it is... Thing is, will the newer performance cars in the higher tax bracket become s**t loads cheaper from next year due to the road tax changes??? Might be worth hanging on...

you can not compare the two cars totally different but i for one find the Evo and Scoobys very boring to drive
in my eyes both are very similar to any modern car perhaps thats why i don't really like them i like a car to drive at the weekend that feels different to the car i have been driving all week
the way you can think of it is the evo is like a new recipe for a certain product
some people will like the taste of the new recipe but some people will prefer the older recipe

for me would be the saph or any rs for that matter
althought hav not driven evo before i agree that they prob are a better alround drive and for daily drive.....but come on thats not why you should be buying a cos or any rs you buy them for love of the badge.......well that my reason.
no real thrill at seeing evo pass me on road but any rs gets my full attension and doubt youll get same feeling driving a evo to cossy.........well thats my 10p worth lol good luck on what ever you go for

For everyday use i would have the EVO or a nice scoob, however as i dont drive far to work or do many miles in general those cars would be a waste. I have driven both and owned a scoob but have always missed the cossie, ive had my latest sapph for 4 years now and its not going anywhere, the power delivery of the old cossies is so different from the boring computer driven jap cars, each to their own but if its time to move on go try something else.
Im pretty sure however the money you think you may save by not upping the bhp on the cossie will be spent upping the bhp or drivability of the EVO.

all i have to say on this matter is my old 3dr running a standard engine and t34/.48housing with light blues blew a red MRFQ340 away on the A127 to southend, the geezer was gutted!!!!!! yeah maybe an everyday car but the cossie wins hands down on a straight with ease.....
