i NEED your help please!!!!
We are moving soon, and our new windows are huuuuuuuuuuuge in the front room, im being organised and ive measured up so i can get the blinds before we move in, 1 less thing to buy and all that, the problem ive got is the price of the buggers![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
Bay window is 195cm drop ( thats top of glass to bottom, excluding frame and sill )
Windows are 66cm each side and 132cm in middle.
I need some inspiration as to what will look good on the windows.
I hate nets with a passion, vertical blinds remind me of doctors surgeries, ive narrowed it down to wooden venetians ( we already have these but they wont fit the new window typically
) Colonial roller blinds, roman blinds or plain edged roller blinds, with curtains to finish the effect off.
Its a victorian terrace so i want to keep the period features as far as possible, but with a bit of modern in our furniture.
The lounge has the original plaster coving and a quite big ceiling rose ( not an awful one may i add ) and we are thinking of putting the picture rail back up to break it up a bit as ceilings are 10ft![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
So if anyone has a bay window can you please put some pics up of what youve got on your windows
PLEASE
Sarah

thanks, i may change my mind about them if they look good i just think they suit flat windows more than bays, but its the inside that ultimately counts to me, couldnt care less if it looks pants outside, i dont sit there

But please be carefull with cheap wooden venetians as they can pretty much warp within hours and all wooden venetians will come with a disclaimer saying there a natural product and it happens and there is nothing you can do about it.
Even the most expensive ones come with this disclaimer, But the more you pay the better the wood and the less chance of it happening ect.
Hope this helps, Steve![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
There are some pics on Stu's thread here.

they do fairly lenghty lenghts of blinds,, and you always have the option of extending them if you are good with a bit of string
![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
i'll put up some pics of mine that i unpreffesionally installed to show you what they shouldn't look like if you get a man in to fix them up for you
the other option is, i think, stu had a fella come round and do his blinds dind't he?
or am i thinking about the wrong person here?

140x250 ( window is 133 x 195 )
80x250 ( window is 66 x 195 )
and they work out a lot cheaper than i originally thought.
I should really read things properly

you can buy the ikea ones and trim down the sizes ratehr than add more onto the edges ![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
then it's just a case of unknotting the cords and adjusting the number of slate you need to do a full drop and then trimming the cords to the desired lengths![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
simple really, the biggest problem we had was putting holes in the walls to fix them into position
use a chop saw to cut them down to the desired width as it's the easiest and cleanest method of doing so rather than with a handsaw or jigsaw
