Myself and my other half are looking on Confetti.com also, the trouble is l find to many of their speeches corny, Laurie you a smart man, think of what you want to say put your points down on paper then look at tying them together, test it on a few people it should flow and have some good wit in it,

Or pay a pro speech writer lol

Good luck

I think it's important to be yourself. Don't try to speak in language that you wouldn't use. I reckon its best to use A5 cards. On each A5 card write an anecdote or funny story or memory or experience. Write yourself a few short notes or bullet points to prompt you to retell the story. Then combine as many of these cards as you need to make the speech.

As an example my best man's speech was along these lines:

Card 1. Stupid shit we did at college
Card 2. Getting drunk together in Soho
Card 3. A funny story about misbehaving with a car
etc etc.

On each card are a few jokes and things you need to remember.

Pause a lot and speak slowly. Practice on your girlfriend or your mum a few times.

Good luck.

having got married a few year ago, and been best man at a few weddings, i find it easier to start writing the speach(s) the week before, you dont need to learn it, just write it, as your going along you will change it constantly anyway, so just wing it,
maine points................take your time, relax, take a few breaks after each paragraph,
I always make apoint of finding some props, something you can use to take the piss a little, even if its at your own expense.
and make sure you compliment the bridal party, and thank the outlaws ! !

good luck

mark
