for instance the average speed cameras on the A14 near me go on for miles, i see people all the time speeding in between them, and then slamming on the brakes every time they go past one on the big goalpost thingies. and there is signs saying "AVERAGE speed camera's" all the way along that stretch of road

i have lost count teh amount of times i've been vertaken on the M1 between junctions 6 and 11 by cars and vans who then slam the brakes on when they go past the markers and then hoon it off again
the whole thing is on it's arse if you ask me as you wnat the cameras in places where they are visable and people understand that if they go faster than the posted limit then they will be liable to get fined and points
put them in acident black spots and job done
getting a letter throught he post 2 weeks later means jack shit as you won't really know what it is that you;ve done wrong in some cases
