sexism in the motor world!!
WHY???
is there any need for it?
to be spoken to on the phone like a child,
'are you sure thats the reg of your car love? or do you want to go look?'
to when having my 185's fitted on my car,
'are you sure those will fit on there darlin? or shall we check?'
being told straight out, that women shouldnt drive!
AND THEN some men just point black ignore me when i ask for something on the phone/in the shop!!
or even worse try to sell me something that need but bump up the price!
like a standard 1300 xflow clutch, for £286!!
why does it seems to be happening more and more??

PassionFord Post Whore!!
i used to be in the part's game and the amount of daft bint's that came in for stuff that didnt have a clue was stupid.
They'd come in and say i my dad/bloke says i need new brake's for my car. But didnt have a clue what they wanted and i've lost count of them that when you started asking questions they didnt know would fall back on the it's a blue one line.
Then spend 5 minutes on the phone trying to find out what they want just for them to pass the phone over so you can talk to the person that's sent them.
Our lass has had massive arguement's in ford part's cos they dont know what there on about and she does. So some female's can grasp the fact but it's the minority

Colossal Pervert
The big problem I find (and the reason I won't go out with any car bints) is that most blokes talk shit about cars and these bints copy whatever they/mags say and think it's fact. Then when someone questions it they behave like wild animals and claim you're being sexist.
Girls= Talking shit and then being corrected is not sexism. Accept it and bend over.

AJ - youre funny!
To be honest, i've been really lucky, and never really faced any major sexism in the past... yeah ive had the odd comment 'is that your boyfriends car?' but nothing really major as normally i'd just put them striaght.
I work in the motor industry too... and very very very occasionally get the odd comment but nothing really derogatory.

loved every second of it, and learnt a fair bit of hands on stuff too!
was lucky enough to be shown rather than told, and funnily enough, i never really had a problem at work it was outside more in the car world than lorries!!

I used to get it ALOT on this site!! I would reply on technical help threads and users would just point blank ignore my answers and not even thank me for my input. This hapend once to often and now i simply do not reply on these threads as it's a waste of my time. I used to show Stu and he was shocked. I think blokes just cannot get their head around a girl giving them advice on cars .
Hey Lynne do you remeber when i used to go on scooby net and had that argument with that guy? pmsl That was funny!!

Nicole, I can only vaguely remember it [not what the topic was about though] but I do recall it being very funny Apparently you can't do a search now on ScoobyNet, unless you are a paid up member.... so can't look it up
