Default xbox 360 connection problem

got xbox 360 other day and trying to sort out xbox live.
i got everyfing, got the adapter for back of xbox and got wireless router because my xbox is up stairs but everytime i try and set it up on my xbox the ip address is ok but when it cums to DNS it says FAILED. ive tried manually changing it etc.

still no luk

PLEASE HELP LOL

check all your port's are open on you router mate. That could cause it.

Check that DHCP on your router is assigning a DNS address server to clients.

The DHCP server should be assigning the local address of your router as DNS server (192.168.1.1 or whatever yours is) - then your router should be looking at DNS servers it gets from your ISP

see if it works hardwired mate might help establish the problem

try turning the router on and off and have you done the settings on the xbox

i tried hardwire and then it fucking sed ip address failed. lol
