Default 2WD or 4WD diff????

How can you tell the difference without measuring the cwp.It's tricky to get an accurate measure without separating the whole lot.Are there any numbers to look out for.

so simple,locking tab nut is at 2pm on a 4x4,4pm on a 2wd,takes less than 3 seconds to see even when on a car!!

or if its fitted to a beam and the above simple way is not a chalenge enough,driveshaft bolt size,or look at the pigs head,if the left hand side has a dog leg in its 7" if its straight its 7.5",the dog leg is for the 1/2" narrower diff,

how can it be?look at it from the right hand side looking square on so your looking at the flat of the diff flange.

No, i was looking at the tag on the cover and not the tab.It's deffo 4x4.Thanks for the help.
