Ok, just checking. I would consider it pretty harsh if you lost your job over a 28 day ban, as if they play it by the book they would have to give you 4 weeks contractual notice anyway!! Unless a driving ban is stipulated under the gross misconduct section of your contract in which case they could dismiss without notice......

I think you did well there ,if all goes ok with your job its worth sticking to the speed limit in the future as they wont let you off so lighty again ,trust me a ban slows you down

A better outcome than you were expecting so nice one. Unfortnately public transport [Maria mode] sucks donkey dick [/Maria mode] so you're gonna have a fun month.

Nah, they're the same as points. They stay on for 4 and are 'active' for 3. (10 is for drink/drugs related stuff). Even a year ban for Dangerous Driving only stays on for 4. The amount your insurance is affected depends on who you're insured with - but I guarantee there is NO insurer who wouldn't increase your policy for getting a ban though.

Only if you get banned and asked to take a restest - That's normally reserved for proper naughty stuff, and not for speeding. When you do have to take a retest it's always an extended one (1 hour) plus the theory test too!

When you get banned you can't drive a car, nor bike, nor anything with an engine. And nor can you steer a car with the engine off, nor even push a broken down car! Seriously!!

yes. ban stays on your license for 4 years. in my unruly youth i was banned for 4 years and when i got my license back it came back clean with no endorsments printed.usually insurers take into accountany previous convictions over the last 5 years.

Good Luck Maria, I got banned for 7 days for doing 102mph on the M1 years ago and it was a blimmin nightmare, my girlfriend had to take me and collect me from work, I couldnt go anywhere on my own, had to get lifts everywhere, how these people who get done for Drink Drive cope with being banned for a year or more I dont know.

Best thing you can do is get Porkchop to throw a mega sickie and take in a nice holiday on a beach.

Alternatively, hire a little polish girl to drive you around

OR

Stay at home doing Cold Calling & Lead Generation for when you can get back into the office.

although its not as bad as you expected, it's still shit really ... If I ever find myself in the situation again of having ANY grounds to fight, I will, and pay for a fucking shit hot breif..... Lying coppers are so common it's sad, you would have got less of a fine for assulting an OAP and stealing their pension , or selling drugs ... Country is run by cunts for cunts

Leeeroy - it sucks donkey cock indeed!!!

Paul - i didnt grovel.... much!! Honestly id didnt, i just cried and cried and cried!

Neil - I may well suggest the sitting at home malarky! Good thinking batman!

RWD - i agree with you completely, its a farce, and tot hink that just because these people wear blue suits they can get away with saying what they like! Unfortunatelt for me, the copper had gone down every single route to make sure everything he had said and done was backed up one way or another! He could of just picked a random figure out of the air and i would of been charged for it!
