#another one bites the dust#

just had a bit of paper come through showing one of our drivers going through a red light

serious enough to have to tell the boss, but also fairly serious enough to have to tell the driver he's out of a job as he's already collected 9 points in the past 3 months

what a bummer eh

unfortuantly, the person who deals with that side of things was getting on a plane this very morning as he called me to say he was off and wouldn't be back for a few months

as for taking the points for him, i'd certainly do it if he paid for the mortgage and bills etc while i might possibly lose my job if anyone found out

so not going to happen

i'll keep him on until the time comes for him to hand his license over but i'll let him know in the morning and perhaps he'll decide what's best for him, more than likely to slow down eh

So 12 points in just over 3 months?
No sympathy.
I drive lorries all day, not sticking to their stupid speed limits, and an M3 like a twat to work and back etc, and got a clean licence.

i have sympathy for the guy as he's a sound fella, but in a situation like this, what can you do?
you can either let him walk or tell him he's gone, hopefully he'll walk and get a letter from us saying he was a nice chap who did his job

i hate firing people, but if it comes down to it.....................

Getting caught 4 times in 3 months, and you need your licence for work, where's the sympathy for someone like that?!
Mate he's got himself fired, can no longer fulfil the role he was employed for through his own actions, no one elses.

3 points for diong 41 in a 30
6 points for doing 71 in a 50
now the red light jumping so i'm not sure what's going to happen with that one

ultimatly, if he says he needs his license for his job and the judge looks at him with pity then he'll keep his job, but if he don't, then he's out of here

i do know there is a stiulation in the insurance that prohibits a new driver from starting with the company if they have more than 3 points, but he had none and has got them all in the past few months

we had one guy here who had 11 and he stuck around till he got caught with a weed grinder, out the door, don't pass go, don't collect £200 etc

i've been driving for nearly 18 years and, touches wood on the table top, i've yet to be caught "speeding" and some years i was doing 80,000 miles

Bet the 71 in a 50 he thought was a 60 too...?

If I was the judge I'd tell him to get fucked, that many times in maybe 3 or 4 years maybe show some leniancy, not 3 or 4 months.
