Front shock removal (now how to Refit )
right on the hub do u just take the one main bolt out and then hit the hub with a hammer to relise the shock or do u have to undo anything else??
I know u have to do the nuts etc on top but just wondering how to get the shock free from the hub

Best way is as follows:
Undo pinch bolt on hub (Leaving top nut in place for now)
Place a bar over the antiroll bar and under the TCA, and lever it down
Then undo the top nut.
Saves lots of chew that way... if you bray the top of the hub, the antiroll bar will be working against you

rhys you may say "get a bigger hammer" as a joke, but seriously, thats what you do
big fookin club hammer to, no pansy arse nail hitting size hammer.
i personally take the discs off when doing this, as i always miss and hit the disk leaving a lovely hammer shaped dent

Right the Shock is off now!! #But i cant get one of the nuts of on the top of the strut, it just keeps spining the top So waiting for mate to give me a hand with it lol.
So any tips on getting the shock back in the hub as it seems like its going to be a struggle

big scaffy bar in, rest on antiroll bar, and the end of it under the inner tca mounting point (not on the sump ) and lever down - move hub back up and line up with shock, unlever
best to have 2 people at this, unless you're good at it like me and do it while sitting on the bar to lever the hub down

I usually do it up at the top but not all the way and then line up the hub and strut, they obviously wont be straight, they'll be at an angle to each other but line up the bracket at the back with the gap in the hub and then push them inwards together and when they line up straight they will fall in and then just tap the hub up un til the bolt hole lines up.
p.s it will pay you to wedge a screwdriver in between the gap in the back of the hub just to open it a bit but make sure the screwdriver doesn't obstruct the strut going back in.
Hope that makes sense, sometimes its easier doing it then describing doing it

Should just slide back on if you grease the bottom of the shock lightly.
If not, use a trolley jack and a block of wood to gently press upwards on the bottom of the TCA, and tap the hub side to side. this should let it go the rest of the way
