Anyone changed head gasket on a 1.4 16v corsa sport (t reg).

What are they like to do?

My sons car has just started chucking out white smoke and water dripping out of exhaust so i'm assumung thats whats gone.

My corsa 1.4 8v has just done the same.
Sorry thats not much use to you though.

doddle mateloom can be a bit of a fucker round the back but apart from that. leave manifolds on when you remove it

Buy a full head set. They are a bit of a pig to do as one person will need to lift the head, (inc inlet) while the second person disconnts 3 pipes from behind it.
Remove,
MAP sensor,
Water Bottle,
Cam Belt cover,
Cambelt,
Cambelt rollers (on head),
Exhaust Heat Shield,
Exhaust Manifold,
Battery,
Throttle Cable,
Multi plug above alternator,
Bracket for above is mounted on a stud which also holds the alternator,
Loosen alternator Bracket,
Water temp Sensors x 2, (replace aswell)
thermostat to rad hose,
Top half of inlet,

and i think thats it,

I'm going to replace alternator belt while i'm at it.

I replaced the tensioner a while back but couldn,t work out how to get the belt off.

Any ideas on that one.
