as above... got a 850 t5 and was wondering if its a matter of uprating actuator and getting cone filter?
its just a runaround and i want it to be a little bit of a giggle so any ideas?
Thanx

so its down to the induction too. Was hoping for the high pitched churp noise so fingers crossed once its done it will make the desired noise!

This is the noise you get when you just fit a filter to a T5 engine, took the lid off the airbox on mine to see if it was just a simple case of fitting a cone filter and it made a similar noise although the video doesn't really put the sound across very well! So I would imagine that removing the recirc would give you the chatter you want. Go to the Forge website they sell a nice polished blanking plate you need if you wanted to go ahead with it.

Correct me if i'm wrong but the chatter comes from turbo stall and that in time will damage the turbo. In order to get the "chatter" noise safely you need a turbo with cut back blades and a 360 bearing.

anyone with better knowledge of the subject feel free to correct me, but chatter or stall will only damage the turbo when youre running so much boost that when the throttle is shut, the force of the air which cuts back past the blades of the compressor wheel is so great it puts excessive loads on the bearings which causes them to wear, or even causes the shaft to bend enough for the compressor wheel to touch the housing. on a std car running sub 1bar it wont be a problem.
