Default Which is Best Bank to Use ?

Im mega pissed off with my bank First Direct today, but over the last year or two they introduced sneaky little charges etc and todays fucked me off so much that i'm going to switch banks again. Only ever been with TSB and First Direct ever so considering NationWide next, any recommendations, i want a good hassle free service without being charged for additional little services that i consider a bank should do.

Whats just blown my stack is that they said its Ł7.00 to cancel a cheque, they also charged me Ł20 last year to transfer cash for a car to another account, Ł25 to send an international money transfer etc...and also now charge Ł10 a month because im now poor and dont have a minimum Ł1500 paid into an account. Nationwide looking in pole position. I just told em i hope they go bust like Northern Rock and told em there burglars lol...calmed down a bit nar lol

I use Natwest and personally think they're great.. Never ever had any problem they couldn't fix for me and even told me before I knew that I'd had my card cloned.

I used HSBC when I was younger and thought they were fucking useless.. along with the TSB and my mate just had massive probs with Halifax when he changed account.

SAvings wise the Cov building society are good.. but 4k cash withdraw in one day with 48hrs notice can be a pain

Strange that have been with them for 42 years & they have never been a problem when I needed money or advice. Have an HSBC account must admit not impressed.
