Default Pdf help

I need a little help with pdf files,as i am not finding it very easy I want to modify a document,and in word or text file all you do is highlight and delete a word or sentence,and then type in the new word...when i try this on a document opened by adobe reader,i cannot seem to modify it Anyone know how to do it?

That's because Adobe Reader is for viewing PDF's - they're not designed to be edited.

So it cannot be done then bill??? what about if i copy and paste the document to text document,make changes and then paste new text to create a new pdf document?

Sorry for the slow reply, looks like you've sorted it

I should've added more detail I guess: it does depend if the author of the PDF has set the various security options, but Adobe Reader is for viewing/printing PDF and Adobe Acrobat is for creating and editing them.

As the Portable Document Format is now 'open' there's lots of other tools out there - as you've found.

You can get a package to do it because we use it at work, but you can only make small changes, not huge ones.
