how can i translate a pdf file?
ive received some files for the equipment i use but there in german, opens up as a pdf file anything i can do?

far as i know a PDF is like a scan of a piece of paper, it cant be changed.

can,t you copy and paste sections into a translator like babelfish or do you need the whole document doing.

open it up with adobe acorat reader and then learn German
free down load from adobe.

PDF's can now be edited by a piece of software called pitstop. Works very well when files have been sent over and they decide they need changes doing to it. There may be a language converter on their website.

maybe print it, then scan it using OCR (if you've got a scanner) and put that into a translator.

You would need to read it very carefully after using OCR software as sometimes it can misread text.

convert the pdf to a text document then throw it into bablefish, or just copy and paste the information into it if that's possible and translate it
