other than a swap of the main lead (they have 2 pin leads) An American PS3 will work fine over here. You will NOT have a problem playing English games on it, however the DVDs will be region coded so you will need to buy American Blu-Ray DVDs (however many are yet to be region coded so you can use most of the English films on it !)

I could of got a used PS3 40GB for £200 a few days ago and could probably get another (Not sure how much they are on EBAY?). I would personally just buy one here mate as you won't get any hassle if it goes wrong or anything and you wont have any hassle with Blu-Rays or DVD's.

How much would you save buying one from another country??

You'd be better off for a piece of mind getting on here incase soemthing goes wrong. I know you'll say 'It'll never happen to me' but it did to me..........

Mine did and was only 7 days old when it refused to turn on in september! The bloke at the Blockbuster counter thought i was a cock for saying the PS3 was busted with Tiger woods 08 still jammed in the console! He refused to give me a new game with my new machine. I could see where he was coming from but i only got the game the day before from the same shop!

So got a brand new unit and it's been fine since!

Smit, totally agree mate! People look to save money, but some regret it in the long run! I personally would not take the risk.

DumpTackler, if your saving for a car dont bother with a PS3 if you cannot afford both or vice versa.

Smit, IMO you should of contacted Sony and explained bout the game in your system to see what they suggested. Fair enough the console was faulty and should of been replaced, but to get the game back the store or your self would of opened the console possibly voiding the warranty. Did you get an exchange game or your one back??
