Rallycross @ BrandsHatch 31st October
Anyone going to this?
Pat Doran is using the RS200 for one last time!
I sense some serious boost!!
If you never been to rallycross before - do it!! Its a great day out! The open pit lane is a great idea too. Gives you a chance to get right up close to the cars and chat to the drivers.
Its only a tenner too if i reemmber right

Last year was great! That RS200 is sick fast when its running right!
Best moment of the day was when we was walking around the pits. We was in looking at Pats mechanics at work trying to replace a wheel baring. This mechanic wasn't doing a great job and my old man turns around and shouts:
"Dont tickle it - fucking hit it!!!"
The looks from those mechanics was priceless!

it starts about 9am and finishes at around 4.30 - 5pm (depending on crashes, stoppages etc)
Even those kids in the mini's are fun to watch racing - theres aways one who thinks he's the big man then "whooooops" one stacked mini

Simon,
some of the top rally drivers over here have shown an interest in the rallycross because it rolls around the off season of the irish tarmac championship...iam wondering will Andrew be the first as his son is doing the junior class at the moment

Pat did retire the RS200 and purchased a geniuen WRC spec Escort (full sequential box etc) but kept the Escort as a YB engine.
The RS200 I believe was kept and to be used in the pikes peak championship in the states - but Its been obvious all season that Pat has been missing the RS200 so it will be good to see it back in action!

very true. That car is a work of art and so quick it's unbelievable. It'll be interesting to see the fiesta next year & see what he can do with that.
