Thats one huge signature pic, but it looks spot on

the smaller units, are they still water fed or electric units? and any idea as to where to source them?

i ran my esort with out one, but the windows fog up soooo quick

i looked into other ones and the best i came up with is a series 2 land rover heater
small box with matrix inside and small fan, has two 40mm outlets for blowers and you can buy them brand new too from landy mags, verry efficient and quite light too

hope that helps

We fit Caterham or Mini blowers in Kelv, having nothing in there is a no no.

Not for heat reasons, but the blowers, it gets essential to demist the important bit in front of your face lol - you soon learn very quickly what works and what dosn't.

what a lovely range of replies.....

Firstly, Doug - fook off you piss taking b*rstard

my only reason is it looks so nice not having it in there when i stripped it out ready for paintwork, and it had a fair bit of weight to it aswell.

Ginge - the car is not really a road car anymore, and i dont intend on getting it out the garage on wet or rainy days!

Tony - cheers for the input, ill consider the options after ive spoken directly with Martoon now.

Martin - i guess even yours is still in then? you know best mate, ill pop it back in when i refit it all next weekend

depends what you want from them. iam like you,car only gets used when its dry,but if going to a show ect,and leave early in the morning its enougth to warm the car and demist the windows.only 5 quid each.buy one and try it in your daily driver.they do take a couple of mins to put out reasonable heat.

yes kelv, they are originally for defrosting iced windows, have a foldaway handle, mounting bracket, hot or cold fan switch.i have taken the cig lighter part off and wired into the car circuit ,switch on the dash.nowhere near as good as a normal car heater, but ok for what i need lol..i tested the two i have in my mondeo.turned car heater to off when it was very frosty, started engine to supply alt voltage.5 mins and all the screens clear.

main reason i have done this is no room to run a proper heater.if i could make one fit i would go back to normal heater arrangements,

Hello Kelv, from having kept mine in and having a full stripped interior (nothing other than the heater matrix and blower box - no dashboard) i would say keep the heater matrix in there.

I only ever use the car during spring-autumn and never in the wet or rarely in damp conditions, but we must remember we still live in Blighty.
If for instance your driving back early evening from say Bedford(noise permitting of course) or Silverstone etc, you will be surprised how at 7/8pm on dry warm April day how nippy/damp the evening can get.

I found that if in the car with a passenger either boy or girl, more so the later, that the car will mist up the windows, due to not having carpet or rooflining the first place for the moisture to settle is on your windows, yes if you have the front heated screen it will clear but not the side or rear windows( rear dependant if polycarb or not).

When mine misted up i would run the heater/blower unit up and all was cleared, bearing in mind i did not have the dash in so only directed up the windscreen or in the footwell but that was enough to clear the steamed windows.

On another note if you are running wiht no carpets trim etc etc... youralso be surprised how cold your feet can get in the evenings / on motorways or those half 5 in the morning drives to the track days.

So after all that Yes .... take it out

I strongly recommend keeping it..
