Default when u remove a engine block....

pulling my block out tomorrow night everything is ready etc, head is already off so no probs there!was under it tonight as was wondering if the engine block will come out with touching any off the gearbox mounts etc?i mean is there enough clearance to get the engine far enough forward to clear the flywheel and clutch out from the box as the sump sits quite close to the cross member, please dont tell me i still have to drop the cross member

right, engine will fly out without touching the gear box,i can lift a 2wd out by hand myself with no problems and leaving the gearbox in situ.

me, cowboi and dancossie too the block out of my old cossie with a bigwing sump and a scaffold pole

be warned its ALOT heavier than most engines !!!!

just pry foward and lift and it will clear

when getting it it check the dowels,,,,,, i spent AGES trying to get my engine in and had a bet at volvo with a tech who said he could do it,,, he was calling me " just a parts boy" ect

i brought the car there,, he said " i knew that would be it" ( the locating dowel ) and put the block in before taking 100 quid off me for being a cunt
