Default Central Heating Problem - Help

Well i got in from work about 5, had a hot shower etc...chilling out and felt a bit cold, radiaters more or less cold, so i checked my combi boiler and the water temp is zero, pressure is zero, i ran the hot water tap and it was freezing and the boiler didn't fire up either. I drained that nob thingy that you twist, re pressurized it to 2bar, turned boiler off then back on and flame kicked up ok, water temp started rising to 40c so i chilled out again. Checked radiaters after an hour still luke warm only, checked boiler again, zero pressure, water temp 20c - anyone any idea what i can try, boiler is a Vokera make, im off bed now and cant get online till tomorrow evening if yer can give us a clue, cheers!!

is the overflow pipe to outside leaking?

as tiff says, you have a leak in the system and the pressure switch is doing its job.

its probably your expansion vessel fooked top up the water to 1.5 bar click heating on and watch the guage if it goes up to 3 bar it will dump out the water through a pressure relief valve and u will need to top up again this will mean the vessel is knackered u might be lucky and the vessel only needs pumped upthere is a valve like a tyre valve on the top off the vessel vessel is prob behind the boiler so u will find the valve ontop off the boiler at the back take off cover and push pin if u get water vessel is done if just air use a pump to pump up a bit failing that the release valve may be passing

ring british gas, fix any fault parts and labour £156 one off payment, or they take you on to a contract with the fault for £20 ish a month, which would cover any further problems
