You will be missed, you cheered me up no end of times and got me back on top! We had fun in Blackpool and our after party was certainly fun and the heart to heart chat we had certainly helped us both!

Really sad news. Never met him or communicated with him, but what I saw of his posts he always seemed positive and determined to beat his illness. Real shame. R.I.P.

Ill add my own tribute...Reading some of the lasts posts made on here by Al, and some of the words people have written have brought tears to my eyes.
Al was taken from us far to early...It is a cruel world we live in where a 29 year old man with the rest of his life ahead of him should be struck down with an aggressive form of cancer.
Al fought his illness with such courage and until the last never let things get him down and kept his sense of humour.
I will remember Al for a number of reasons...things he said to me...the way he spoke about his life...and his love for the best football club to play in red
I didn't get chance to say to him all the things I wanted to before he was taken from us, but I know that someday...I will.
I'll be raising my glass to him on many occasions I'm sure....but for now, my thoughts are with all of the people who he has left behind.
Rest in peace sweetheart. You fought a good fight. I'm proud of you!

Been on my mind all day this has, I was remembering the first time I met speedy, We'd been for a drink, I had coke as I was driving and I crashed into a field, We both was pissing ourselfs, and I managed to get the mini out, al in fits of laughter and me also.....

I cant say i have ever spoken to or heard of Al until now and its so sad to only be reading about him at this unfortunate time.
Sounds as though he was a top fella that had touched many people on and outside of this forum with his humour and strong will.

Hi its laura als fiancee.
he is sadly missed by all his family especially the kids. hermione is 3 and lottie isnt quiet 3 months. He was that weak after new year he hasnt been able to hold lottie or do anything with her. I have seen a post saying bout getting some flowers im affraid they are only family flowers but please feel free to make a donationa nd we will send it to sue ryder care home and cancer reaserch. Thorpe hall have just been amazing if only pdh could have been like them we wouldnt have been in this situation and he would have done everything he wanted to.

I never knew Al but like him I am too 29. Its so sad to hear. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

Speedy had more reason to feel sorry for himself than most of us, yet he never took this opportunity. He remained dignified and respectful to others.

so sad news.i can truly imagine how his family feels.as i lost my dad last year..and he never leaves your mind..just stupid things like songs he liked or tv programs.just flash his face back to you i wish his family well...life is so cruel sometimes

Well its been 2 1/2 weeks and it still feels like a dream. He is greatly missed by everyone. The reason or one of them im on here today is because i would like your help... we want to do some fund raising in the summer and wondered if you could come up with some ideas. One thing we are thinking is cars but what we do is a blank.
Also could i be really cheeky. Im doing race for life at burghley house may 18th (al was supposed to be at finishing line) and was wondering if you'd sponsor me.
