Default remap the T38 or get different turbo ?

All this talk about turbos has got me thinking again on mine as at the moment i have a T38 on my car running greys and about 27psi max, got it booked into have a live map and boost spike plus 750cc injectors in early april and now i dont know if i might be better off changing the turbo to a gt30 ? or would a T38 with a nice boost spike of about 35psi and then falling back to 30 psi be nice on the road as before i had the T38 i had a T34/63 with boosted to 34psi and that was nice and nippy and gave full boost at 3500rpm and i miss that big push that the car had at 3500

engine spec is
fully ported head
isky valve springs
scs inlet cam and exhaust cam (spec 400/400)
matched inlet manifold
long stud
wrc head gasket
lowered c/r
pistons machined for valve pockets
crank polished and balanced
small turbo block, head, inlet and exhaust manifolds

UT T38 or TT T38 Duncan?

i had a UT T38 on greys, peeking at 36psi and holding 33 ish, i thought it was awesome and would happily go back to that again if i had to.

Dunc, didn't you have the same turbo as me?

You can have a drive of mine to see if it's worth perhaps changing the cams, although I think the spike would probably work quite well

Sorry Duncan, didnt spot the SCS bit in the corner of your sig, yeah id guess it will be his own spec of Vince's UT T38.

i think there could be room for improvement and that turbo is definatly capable of delivering more if set up correctly.

i know harvy maps them with quite abit of safty in mind but the turbo feels very slugish running the amount of boost that i run but i dont want to spend £500 on a live map only to then change the turbo and have to get it live mapped again if i still dont like it

Judging by the £100 per hour rates (with no clue) that we have seen on here lately, you are going to be shocked how cheap this will be

But I will take no shit .. It's external or the highway as far as I'm concerned, it's for your own good!!
