Default CV's anyone good at them? need help

Im leaving the RAF, and have about 30 working days left!

Been on the phone all the time job hunting and I may have come a cropper but the guy has asked for a CV!

Now I haven't got a clue how to do one, what one 'should' look like or how to present it

Anyone got any links, or something to help me go by so I can get one together.

Thanks for any help!

My top tips are -

1. Keep it to one page.

2. Make sure it's RELEVANT (I've had applications the staff writer job which don't even mention the word Ford!!!)

3. Make 100% sure it's correct. If I get a CV with a typo it goes in the bin.

totally agree with the last 2 comments Dan...............however a 1 page CV wouldnt look good especially someone of rads age.......maybe a first jobber but thats it..........my cv covers 3 pages....includes personal statement, experience, qualifications, achievements etc.......and thats with it cut down lol

trim it and make it relevant...........dont trim it down too much as you may lose some valuable info.........if you want me to have a look matt let me know.

If the information is relevant then 3 pages is fine. Mine is 3 pages long.

Radders, I don't mind email you the last one I did as an example if you like.

my dad see hundreds of cvs and he is also of the opinion that a short one is better.

they way he puts it is, who wants to sit there reading pages of waffle when they could be doing better things.
the cv is to get you through the door so u can sell ur self in an interview.

u have to remember the person reading ur cv probably has about 50 others next to it that he has to get through, if its all messy, poorly presented, a load of trash etc etc it'll go into the bin and he is onto the next one.

mine was 1 page for as long as i could keep it but now its had to go on 2 pages.

what sort of job is it your looking for radders?

ive got things like the main rolls in previous jobs bullet pointed. also relevant qualifications. just things so they can quickly see that your experienced in the field and that your qualified for the job ur applying for.
once they see that they will be more interested in reading things like ur personal statement, and if they like that its on to the interviews.

im just going by what ive been told, no experience personally lol

just going by what people that are in charge of taking on lots of people have told me.

my dad looks after all the engineers in his company and his wife is well high up in the dwp.

fuck reading 150 cvs though, thats why it has to be good coz otherwise it'll be used as a basketball and aimed at the bin lol

I am currently looking for a full time work. I am a very motivated individual who has the ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team and willing to undertake a wide-range of tasks.

I am a customer focused person who is able to have a rapport with those that I work with. I have the skills to work in a challenging work environment.

I would like the opportunities to grow in your company and show how dedicated I can be to my job and your company at the same time it is equally important for me to make a meaningful contribution to your organization.

Personally I am of the belief that I have a lot to give and even more to gain from a career within your organization.

Thank you very much for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

Here you go mate
