Hello chaps.
Started my cossie up today for the first time in 3 months, went for a short drive, came back, and left it to idle on the drive for a bit. I noticed that there was a bit of blue smoke coming from the exhaust as it was ticking over.
Now, the head was reconditioned last year, with new guides, stem seals, etc. And a new T34 Turbo was fitted at the same time. If you blip the throttle, it blows a bit more smoke.
What what usually cause this to happen? I was thinking turbo? but i dunno.
Cheers

i know its burning oil....
And i did give it a bit of a hiding TBH. Hit 30psi a couple of times, and got up to temp before i went out...
It drives like normal aswell, doesnt miss or anything at all. Im also thinking turbo...
it was built by "CR Turbo's" i believe.

OH YEY!
Topped the water up this morning, drove to work, and it used all the water. SO topped it up again, went for 20mile drive, and its emptied the header tank AGAIN! Noticed on idle, its also smoking white (like condensation, not smoke). Would it be using water cos of headgasket? Its not leaking it onto the floor, or anything like that, and doesnt use water when engine is off.
fun!

Yeah i would prefer an internally gated one, cant be fooked with all that external stuff. Do black run on normal Weber L's then? thought you might have neede a P8 or something.
Anyway, so what should i do first? take the head off and check to see if its broke? its only 10months old, lol. Although i have been giving it 32psi of death everytime i use it. oops.

Depends on which GT30 and what head spec you have.
If you are on a standard head, you are going to struggle to get a lot past 400 I suspect.
Talk to your chosen tuner Im afraid mate, I simply dont have enough experience of that specific combination to say with any certainty, but its a good way to be going to get to the 450bhp ballpark IMHO if you use a smaller GT30 and some mild headwork.

Sorry mate, nothing there that means anything to me at all.
Every different person who does heads as their own ways of numbering things anyway, and besides the numbers on port sizes etc are nowhere near as important as port shape, thats what seperates a good head from a bad IME and is all about the talent of the guy doing it.
