Is ayone else having probs with connecting to pf?
It happens a couple of times a day & has been happening since the swap over, what happens is everythings ok then you try & reply to a thread or refresh the page & it wont load up then I get a message saying the web page cannot be displayed & tis lasts for about 10 minutes.

Is anyone else having that problem or is my pc flocked?

Possibly an issue with your ISP not finding certain sites, there was a post on here from jenny having similar issues with some sites, and Si B is looking like misisng out on a blowjob from bebo or somewhere apparnetly too because of it, lol

It happens to me at work too on BT AJ, but its worse at home....

Ive foud the only solution is to close that browser and open another. Then its fine again.

irnoically can you ping the server?

infact do a continuous ping to the server and see if it ever drops out

I "Think" ive fixed mine fellas... you will never guess how....




Turned off my router for 5 mins. Back on, bingo, everything works fine again. Dont know why its helped, maybe it caches somthing? Pet told me to do it about a year ago and it worked back then too.

I can think of two possibilities. 1, when you go dark for 5 minutes and then come back, you most likely get a new IP, which may be on a different netblock than the last - and there might be a routing issue between the previous netblock and PF that doesn't exist for the new netblock. 2, consumer broadband routers are usually built using the cheapest stuff available during the week in which they were built, and sometimes they go a little funny after they've been running long enough. My Linksys router seems to like being rebooted about once a month.

router flushing it's routing table?

as it cant resolve the DNS name to the site,

so if you ping the dns name, it fails, like an unknown site

rebooting the router, will clear the arp entries and routing entries, and it might also flush the dns enteries

I have had no issues been running great, but if i was i would run though the basics try IE and fire fox see if the issue is on both clear temp internet files and cookies flush the dns resolver cache, theres plenty of IT guys on here am sure its can be figured out easily enough.

Tried that a few times Stu but it still does it, it's hapened 3 times today & the the 3rd time it happened I couldnt get back on Pf for 35 minutes
