I read that too, can't see it happening here, too many vehicles over 10 years old and it would soon apply to buses, trains, lorries, taxis etc, maybe even the queens car ?

This has been on the go for years... I think eventually it will be inevatable, who would have believed even 5 years ago London city Centre would be a virtual no go area?
With the enviromental issues continually being pushed up the political agenda, and the primary voter being middle class Mr Average, it wont effect him anyway, he will be more concerned about green issues, so inturn it is a vote winner.

damn..

I thougt the dutch goverment was only that silly.

Here they are having the same ideas.

They want to start with Amsterdam but if it goes trough, I think a lot of other cities will follow.

every car built before 92 will be banned.
I never had a car younger then from 1990

so the goverment thinks it is better that you have a new car and drive a lot of miles in it.
then having a old car.. which you care about.. so you make not as much miles in a year.
short distance you will take your bicycle.

stupid idiots...

I think there's more chance of seeing monkeys fly out of my arse than this getting off the ground!! I can understand a charging system based on emissions but I think it will be very difficult to get established country wide. Look at the system in London for low emissions on LGVs. It's still in its infancy even though it is now in force.
All 3 of my cars are over 10 years old. My range rover runs lpg so is probably better for the environment than most motors out there that are 6 months old
